The complex crossed structures with a polymorph of calcite, termed a chalky layer, which make up much of the shell of an oyster, are composed of flames and leaflets. Two layers, folia and the chalky layer in the giant Pacific oyster (Crassostrea gigas) were examined using SEM (scanning electron microscope), micro-area-XRD (X-ray diffraction) and FT-IR (Fourier transform infrared spectrometer) to determine their morphologies and component characteristics. The chalky layer was also tested using microindentation to assess its mechanical properties, and a microcrack was generated to study the fracture mechanism of the chalky layer. From an analysis of the secondary protein structure, it was shown that the ordered structures of the two layers, α-helix and β-structure, are similar but that the unordered structures are different. Moreover, the foliated rods at the interface of the chalky layer play a key role in the crystal growth of the chalky layers. Comparing the morphology and the preferred orientation of foliated laths, the advantages of the relatively high density and low hardness of the chalky layer have interesting implications regarding the development of sophisticated complex composites. 相似文献
A liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) assay was developed and validated for the quantification of lurasidone, an atypical antipsychotic drug, in rat plasma, bile, and urine. Rat plasma, bile, or urine samples were processed by liquid–liquid extraction and injected onto an LC-MS system for the quantification of lurasidone and ziprasidone (an internal standard). Lurasidone and ziprasidone were separated from endogenous substances using a Gemini C6-Phenyl column with mixture of acetonitrile and 0.1 % formic acid (80:20, v/v) as the mobile phase. Quantification was performed using the selected ion monitoring mode at m/z 493 for lurasidone and m/z 413 for the IS. The detector response was specific and linear for lurasidone in the concentration range 5–5,000 ng mL−1 The intra- and inter-day accuracy and precision of the method were determined to be within the acceptable criteria for assay validation guidelines. In addition, lurasidone was stable under a variety of processing and handling conditions. Lurasidone concentrations could be readily measured in rat plasma, bile, and urine samples up to 24 h after an intravenous or oral administration, suggesting that the assay can be used in pharmacokinetic studies of lurasidone in rats.
Iron oxide nanoparticles as contrast agents are reported to effectively improve magnetic resonance imaging of tissues and cells. In this work, cleaved iron oxide nanoparticles (CIONPs) were generated from hydrophobic FeO nanoparticles (HIONPs) by coating their surfaces with PEG‐phospholipids, oxidizing them under water, and slowly removing the residual FeO phase in phthalate buffer. The synthesized CIONPs showed good r2 values of up to 258 s?1 mM ?1. Thus, the CIONPs can be employed as vectors for drug delivery due to their unique structure with an empty inner space, which enables their use in a wide range of applications. 相似文献
We introduce a model of bargaining among groups, and characterize a family of solutions using a Consistency axiom and a few other invariance and monotonicity properties. For each solution in the family, there exists some constant α ≥ 0 such that the “bargaining power” of a group is proportional to cα, where c is the cardinality of the group. 相似文献
We have synthesizedN-methyl-9-anthrylhydroxamic acid, which is a fluorescent analogue ofN-methylbenzohydroxamic acid. Complexation with various di- and trivalent metal ions occurs (logK from 4 to 5) in water with resulting fluorescence quenching. Because the Fe(III) and Al(III) complexes substituted rather slowly, the addition of EDTA provides a temporal method for obtaining some selectivity in the chemosensor. 相似文献
Ultrafast laser ablation of ITO thin film coated on the glass has been investigated as a function of laser fluence as well as the number of laser pulses. The ablation threshold of ITO thin film was found to be 0.07 J/cm2 that is much lower than that of glass substrate (about 1.2–1.6 J/cm2), which leads to a selective ablation of ITO film without damage on glass substrate. The changes in the electrical resistance and morphology of ablated trench of ITO electrode were found to be strongly dependent on the processing conditions. We present the performance of organic light-emitting diodes (OLED) fabricated with ITO electrode patterned by ultrafast laser ablation. 相似文献
